I also have OCD, and i have a bit of an opposite problem see its me thinking or worrying that im psychotic and the doctors assuring me im not. I alsways obsess over illness both physical and mental that i dont have. Unfortunalty some people in the world still believe that someone with depression or an anxiety disorder cant or doesnt know whats going on. Those people are cruel and ignorant. having a mental illness doesnt make us stupid. Thats all part of the stigma and discrimination that surrounds mental illness. if you are seeing hallucinations(not just having thoughts of it) then i would say to listen to that nurse a bit. but from what you've said you seem to know what psychosis is and able to tell the difference. And yeah abuse from your past can and does make you more paranoid and anxious about things later on in life, but thats not unusual at all so they shouldnt blame all those problems just on your past, especially if your still in contact with people that hurt you.

Doctors shouldn't hide a diagnoses from you. i always ask mine to explain everything to me. having ocd and intrusive thoughts may be confused as depression with psychotic features, to someone who doesnt know what they're talking about. anyone who has done a little research on it would be able to tell the difference, and that its OCD and not psychoticness. A couple of my disorders arent typed on my paper either, though i think thats cause my doc hasnt updated it in a while. Dont let these people get you down, if you're still in touch with reality and can tell the difference than your not psychotic, despite intrusive and disturbing thoughts(cause thats a whole other thing) Good luck with everything! :)

You have several questions and issues and are clearly very stressed. I hope you find someone to talk to.
1. The nurse. She was speaking to an insurance company. She was probably trying to get something approved. Sometimes people say "depression with psychotic features" as a way of saying it is really, really bad. She was not concerned about the details and may have been trying to do something that she felt was the best thing for you.
2. Forms. Lots of patients have lots of diagnosis. Only one is needed to get the visit approved. The doctor may only mark the one closest to his pencil.
3. Medicines. Please note that some of the best medications (in my opinion they can often be better than Luvox) for depression, OCD, severe anxiety, etc. can be the newer anti-psychotics like Abilify, Seroquel. Don't be scared or freak out if your Doctor suggests it.
4. Get some therapy that you can control. I would suggest a book named "Brain Lock" by Schwarz.

The nurse probably has better things to do than lie. It sounds like you are overwhelmed with negative emotions and thoughts. I cant tell you how to run your life, noone can. I think maybe you should try to focus on more up lifting ideas and activities. If your family is so mean to you and you are 25 years od then do your own thing. Take care of your self by doing what makes you happy girl! seriously why are you spending so much energy on everyone elses thoughts? Your grown do your thing and make it positive DESPITE what everyone says , thats the only way to win this one!
